Who is the ECB?
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the National Governing Body for cricket in England and Wales, running successful England teams and oversees domestic and recreational cricket. They run participation programmes that give more than a million children and young people a chance to play cricket and invest in new pitches and facilities to give more people opportunities to play the game.
Through cricket, they want to improve lives and connect communities.
What specific hiring challenges were the ECB facing before Partnering with Global Sports Hiring?
The ECB have an established in-house talent and recruitment team. However, with an increase in recruitment volume and a team working at maximum capacity, they foresaw challenges in delivering on future recruitment needs. Additionally, the ECB is a key sporting Nation Governing Body in Britain, with a focus on ED&I and improving the diversity of their talent attraction and appointments.
The ECB were looking for a partner who could quickly provide expert sport recruitment, with proven experience of working amongst a wider People Team and a demonstrable background in improving diversity of hires.

The talent partner is responsible for hiring across all head office departments as well as Performance and Participation, from contract to permanent positions. In 13 months Global Sports Hiring™ has already provided recruitment support to 76 vacancies across 62 different roles and delivered 72 successful hires for the ECB so far.
This work has delivered a 46% Female hiring ratio - 16% above the sports industry average, with a 33 working days average time to hire - 3 day quicker than the average.
